AUSTIN PENDLETON has acted on and off Broadway, in regional theaters, extensively on television
and in about 100 movies, among the best known of which are A Beautiful Mind, Dirty Work (on DVD),
My Cousin Vinny, Short Circuit, and What's Up Doc. His best known television work was in recurring
roles on both Homicide and Oz. Among his stage appearances in New York: with Meryl Streep in
Mother Courage and Her Children and with Lauren Ambrose in Romeo and Juliet, both for the New
York Shakespeare Festival in Central Park. He is also a playwright; his three plays -- Orson's Shadow,
Uncle Bob, and Booth -- have all been published, and produced in New York City and around the
country (and in the case of Uncle Bob around the world as well). He is a Tony-nominated Broadway
director. He is also a member of Chicago's famed Steppenwolf Theatre ensemble, and has worked there
extensively for many years. He teaches acting at New York's HB Studio, founded by Herbert Berghof
and Uta Hagen.
